Invisible Sun • Chasing the Light

ART INSTALLATION // On the occasion of the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and in the context of the World Frontiers Forum, the artists Bobby Sager and Maya Sanbar present a joint installation. The artwork is accompanied by a remix of Sting's song "Invisible Sun" created especially for this show by Stings Daughter Eliot Sumner.
Bobby Sager's "Invisible Sun" installation and Maya Sanbar's "Chasing the Light" tunnel are set next to each other in the courtyard of the Factory Berlin only meters away from the Berlin Wall. Sharing more than just common geography, the two push their audience to break down and challenge pre-construed ideas and barriers.
The photographs in "Invisible Sun" search for that smallest ray of light in the children's eyes, and these are magnified by the echo of the mirror "eyes" in Sanbar's tunnel. The mirrors themselves multiplying are like eyes reflecting at us, throw us off balance as to where we think we should be looking, and remind us that we are all accountable, our actions are seen and consequential.
The installation is on display 24hrs from Thursday the 7th till Sunday the 10th.
