I shall post more pictures this evening.

Not quite on lockdown yet

The last few days I have left my flat only to do my shopping at the local supermarket round the corner.

Today I took my camera and went out into my neighbourhood and the city centre. It’s been a long day and I feel tired. Over the next few days I shall post some of my subjective impressions. Tonight I am just going to follow the latest news and draft a text for today’s pictures.

Stay safe everyone everywhere!

While you wait, here are four samples from my playful period in 2011, when I was still tinkering with Aperture® 3.

In the days of Covid-19

I am going to self-isolate for some time. Feeling well, but trying to avoid unnecessary risks.
Time to go through my archive and do a number of things that need to be done.

Stay safe everyone!

Shall try to catch some impressions of Hamburg on lockdown tomorrow. My priority is to minimise social contact, even if that means to do without photography.

I do miss my urban rambles and my archery practice, but it can’t be helped. As I belong to a high-risk age group myself, self-discipline is important.

Teufelsberg • Berlin

Teufelsberg (German for Devil's Mountain) is a man-made hill in Berlin, Germany, in the Grunewald locality of former West Berlin. It rises about 80 metres (260 ft) above the surrounding Teltow plateau and 120.1 metres (394 ft) above the sea level, in the north of Berlin's Grunewald Forest. It was named after the Teufelssee (Devil's Lake) in its southerly vicinity. The hill is made of rubble, and covers an unfinished Nazi military-technical college (Wehrtechnische Fakultät). During the Cold War, there was a U.S. listening station on the hill, Field Station Berlin. The site of the former field station is now fenced off and is currently being managed by an organisation which charges 5 to 10 euros for public access. WIKIPEDIA
